Janell Carpenter - Former Div Intern
Janell Carpenter is a current Web Design & Development student at Francis Tuttle. She is also a former intern for The Div and a future web developer extrodinare! Upon completion of her internship, she was given the opportunity to work with Matt Harney to create a website for his upcoming campaign. The site, harneyforhouse.com, launched February 2012. In the 2011 school year, she worked with a team of students that won 1st place at BPA State and National competition for a Web Application Project. This school year she is hoping to return to state and national competitions, along with fellow class mate Natasha Martin, for their Web Design Project. She is currently putting together a website for her Sunday school class - homebuilderclass.info. When she isn't doing web projects for school, she enjoys spending time with her family and loves Starbucks! She is also a Sooner fanatic!
Wes Davis - Stone Graphic Design
Stone Graphic Design is a small business with some of the world's biggest international clients. Stone Graphic Design is located in Edmond, Oklahoma, and specializes in 3D Animations, 3D Modeling, Interactive Flash Applications, and Technical Illustrations.
While they mostly specialize in Oil and Gas Animations, such as Drilling Rig Animations, they work with companies all over the world and in many industries. Additionally, The Stone Graphics Design team has been involved with the development of over 300 health and safety online training courses made using interactive flash. These guys are really cool, and are involved in many activities. Mr. Stone was even a Mt. Dew Distortion Design Contest Winner!
Jessica Green - T&S Web Design
Jessica Green is a programmer at T&S Web Design. She just finished the Web Design & Development Program at Francis Tuttle last December. She loves the diversity of web development. Every day she learns something new. She is married to her husband Jeremy, and they have three boys: Evan who is 7, Tyler who just turned 3, and an 8 month old baby named Cylus.
James Harber - Studio FJ
James Harber is the owner of Studio FJ, an Oklahoma City-lover, southpaw, and passionate about the web. With 6+ years experience in design and usability, James brings creative direction to each project ensuring that it meets the client's needs. James serves as Vice President of OKC Ad Club and as an Advisor on the Francis Tuttle Web Design & Development board. He is commonly found wearing overalls and noodling.
Neill Harmer - Element Fusion
Neill is a web developer at Element Fusion where he gets to code and design all day, everyday. When he is not coding at work, he will try to go home and do it some more! He loves HTML, CSS and jQuery .. without these awesome codes he really thinks the earth would stop spinning! When not knee deep in code he can be found chasing his children around or training for his next upcoming triathlon.
Natasha Martin - Project Manager Intern at ONEsite
Natasha is currently an intern at ONEsite and a Web Design & Development student at Francis Tuttle. She regularly attends seminars and workshops and enjoys being active in the local web community. She started the WDD program not knowing much about internet technologies and is really inspired by all she has learned. She pursued an internship early on because she understands the importance of getting out and working on real projects to put your education and skills into practice. Natasha has been part of a team that has created community sites for clients such as THQ, Rides.com, Parents.com, Saints Row, UFC Undisputed, LA Office Lounge and is currently a Project Manager for one of ONEsite's clients. She also worked on a project for BPA competition that uses PHP and MySQL to populate dynamic content throughout the site. When she's not coding websites, she enjoys spending time with her children or taking her camera out and capturing some of Oklahoma's beautiful landscapes and sunsets.
Brooks McGinnis - Skyline Media Group
Brooks is responsible for overseeing motion design and animation for Skyline Media Group. Born to create and innovate; Brooks brings to the table an extremely diverse skill set with a talent for adaptive knowledge absorption. Through self-motivation and hard work he has successfully risen above the normal and excelled at nearly every aspect of the production process. He brings award winning creativity and design backed by a desire for perfection in everything he accomplishes.
Through his years of teaching, consulting and serving on advisory committees for educational institutions, he has continued his growth and expansion as both a person and as a mentor. Through independent projects, award-winning short films and conceptual design he continues to grow as an artist and kept his cutting edge talent relevant. Acquiring over a decade worth of animation and production experience in film, television, print and web, Brooks has run the gamut of both marketing and communications alike and has a true understanding of the process. His personal and professional achievements mirror his goals and dedication to any project, as well as life.
Cory Miller - iThemes
Cory Miller is a former newspaper journalist and public relations/communications practitioner, turned freelance web designer, turned full-time entrepreneur. In January 2008, he founded iThemes, a provider of WordPress themes. iThemes has grown from a one-person startup to 20+ team members, thousands of customers around the globe and a vast offering of products, services and training for freelance web designers and do-it-yourselfers. In the summer of 2009, Cory launched WebDesign.com, a premium provider of web design training with WordPress, then in 2010, PluginBuddy, for WordPress plugins. He is also co-author of WordPress All-in-One for Dummies (Wiley Publishing 2011) and a member of Entrepreneurship Organization, a network of over 8,000 entrepreneurs in 40 countries.
He is passionate about helping others pursue their entrepreneurial dreams. He is married to Lindsey Miller, who runs The Div, a nonprofit web tech foundation. They live in Oklahoma City and they have two obnoxious dogs, Franchesca and Scooter.
Dave Miller - Back40 Design
Dave was born and raised in Northern New Jersey. He attended Rhode Island School of Design where he earned a BFA Industrial Design in 1985. Dave worked as a Jr. Designer at Industrial Design Research in Laguna Beach, CA. Projects include automotive, marine and product design. He later worked as a freelance illustrator where his work was featured in regional Los Angeles magazines and newspapers. He also worked in the animation industry as a storyboard designer and left the animation industry as an assistant director. Dave also was a Nationally syndicated cartoonist with comic strip DAVE that was distributed to 160 newspapers including San Francisco Examiner, Chicago Tribune and Dallas Morning News during 1992-1999. He was also the Sr. Toy Designer at Hasbro Toys, PlaySkool division. He worked on Barney and Teletubbies projects.
Dave started Back40 Design in 2000 as a home-based web business with his wife, Sandy, in Prague, OK. Published Shawnee Outlook monthly magazine in 2003 (still publishing, different owner). Started Edmond Outlook monthly magazine in 2005 (still publishing). Back40 Design has built over 500 regional website projects. Their services have grown over the years to include, web hosting, custom programming, SEO, developing/marketing a proprietary content management system (Javelin CMS), and creating print marketing for their clients.
Dave lives in Edmond with his wife, Sandy; daughter, Jessica; granddaughter, Aubrey; 2 cats and a dog. He enjoys his family, working with creative people, making things that haven't existed before, collecting mid-century furniture, riding his Ducati motorcycle and smoking an occasional cigar.
Ralph Miller - ONEsite
Ralph Miller earned his BFA in Visual Communications from the University of Oklahoma in 2003. He joined the ONEsite team in 2007 and currently serves as the Vice President of Professional Services. Ralph is responsible for fostering client relationships and leads ONEsite's project teams to coordinate the delivery and successful implementation of large-scale interactive destinations for many clients including Fox Sports, NBA, Activision and Wizards of the Coast. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends as well as watching OU football, Thunder basketball and playing hockey.
Stephanie Moore - KSBI TV
First as a student enrolled in the Graphic Communications program at Francis Tuttle Technology Center, then as a Francis Tuttle Technology Center employee working in the marketing department, and now working as a Marketing Coordinator for KSBI-52 television station, Stephanie has learned the value of leveraging tools and techniques for their maximum value. Stephanie is responsible for KSBI’s outside promotional efforts, from creating digital billboard signage, designing print ads and writing press releases to managing web content on ksbitv.com, Facebook and Twitter. She was just inducted as the Public Relations officer for her Toastmasters' group. Additionally, Stephanie stays very busy as a teacher, a Media Director for her church, and has worked as a Senior Designer for a national magazine. When it comes to managing multiple projects, Stephanie has it down to an art!
Piyush Patel - Digital-Tutors
Piyush Patel is the founder and CEO of Digital-Tutors, a division of PL Studios, Inc. and leading provider of interactive training solutions and services that assist in the creation of feature films, video games, commercials, visual effects and emerging media since 2001. Patel has contributed toward technical education and the advancement of professional and personal lives for both new and experienced artists by creating the largest online computer graphics learning library and educational platform.
Over the past decade, Patel has had the opportunity to teach artists at Electronic Arts, assist in product visualization at Motorola, develop educational curriculum for the University of Michigan, and work with software developers such as Autodesk, Pixar, Next Limit, Pixologic, Softimage, and Adobe.
Tim Priebe - T&S Web Design
Tim Priebe is a public speaker, the author of the book "Webifiable" and the upcoming book "Blogify Your Business," a columnist in the Business Times of Edmond, and the owner of T&S Web Design. His business was one of the top three finalists for Edmond's 2010 Small Business of the Year, and he was in Twenty Under 40 in Edmond in 2011. He has been married to his wife, Leann, since 1997, and has two boys, Josh (age 7) and Jackson (age 5).
Amy Samuel - Back40 Design
Amy is an award-winning graphic designer and her nickname is Amyella. She specializes in web design, logo design, print design, and branding. Amy has a passion for solving problems with creative design. She works with clients designing and implementing their marketing materials which include: websites, letterhead, business cards, packaging, and more. Amy is a UCO graduate and spent her first two years out of school working for Jordan Associates as an Art Director. She now is a graphic designer for Back40 Design Group, a group comprised of designers, programmers, developers, project managers, and account executives.
